I am a vastly experienced musician both as a guitar player and as a bassist, and this along with the fact that I am a qualified music teacher, makes me uniquely placed to offer you extremely high quality instrumental tuition. I have been an active player for over 20 years, and can give instruction in a variety of styles. I am a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors, and can offer tuition for RGT exam grades. I also have current DBS clearance.
I can offer GSCE and A level Music and Music Technology Tuition.

Ethos
Unlike most guitar and bass tutors, I do not focus only on scales, exercises and theory to improve. The focus is on the individual musical aims of each student - learning songs, riffs and techniques employed by the artists you like. It is a creative process, so improvisation and songwriting play a large part too.
We'll develop exercises specifically for your needs to help you become the musician you want to be, and music theory will be introduced in a practical way alongside this.
After all, what's the point in being able to play an G# Minor Arpeggio, if you can't play your favourite Metallica riff?

Practical Advice
As a practicing musician, I am well placed to offer practical help and advice for students who play live or in bands, including how to develop sounds, equipment advice, songwriting and business issues.

Bass
Unlike with most guitar tutors, bass is not an afterthought. I have played literally hundreds of shows as a bassist, and am well experienced in bass techniques- this is not just guitar tuition tuned down a bit!

Location
Tuition takes place at my Teaching Studio (in Rochester town centre- ME11LF)
Parents are welcome to attend their children's lessons.

Prices
Your first lesson is free!
This is so we can meet to discuss your aims, and so you can get a feel for how I work.
If you decide to continue, the price is £30 per hour session, or £20 per half hour (usually for younger students).
Most students have weekly sessions, but fortnightly ones can be arranged.
